I use several resources to stay up-to-date on information impacting the lives of the elderly. This includes current scams, personal financial planning trends, investment trends, senior advocacy at both the State and Federal levels, elder planning, etc. This week, I came across three articles that highlight how BRPS Consulting is trying to help you!

The first article “Protecting the Financial Health of Your Clients” by Liz Loewy is a good summary of how and why the elderly/disabled are vulnerable to scams. Last week I wrote about a specific case study, this article is more general. What jumped out at me is included in the last paragraph and partially copied below. Ferraro, JD, details actual scams that an individual fell victim to. This article too, offers solutions to help the vulnerable individual in your life. The third article “9 Questions to Ask Aging Parents About Their Finances” by Patricia Sklar, CPA, CFP, CFA highlights the areas where a senior may need help in organizing their financial and legal lives as they age. The target audience for the article is the children of aging parents, but the discussions should be happening in the homes of all aging persons. This too highlights the services that BRPS Consulting can assist with.
